Local Barcelona Attractions: This apartment is located in the centre of Barcelona, at Passage Reloj which is near George Orwell square and Escudellers street. Plaza Orwell and Escudellers are very well known for their day and night time commercial activity, with lots of shops, cafes, bars and restaurants.
When constructed in 1856 the Passage contained the central offices, headquarters and the family residence of the owners of the most important Catalan Bank at that time. Outside the door are countless interesting shops, museums, restaurants, clubs and bars.
The world famous Las Ramblas, with its numerous performers, artists and colorful flower stands and Plaça Reial, with its beautiful palm trees and street lights designed by the famous Catalan architect Gaudi, are only two minutes away. Here you will delight in the charm of the Barri Gotic, with its narrow streets and old world style. Visit the Gothic style Cathedral in just a 10 minute walk, Roman ruins in a short six-minute walk, and Plaza del Pi, a charming square full of artists and musicians, in only three minutes. The Old Port and the old fisherman’s neighbourhood (Barceloneta) are a short 10-minute walk away. The trendy area El Borne is a 8 minute walk.
There are two subway lines (Drassanes- green and Jaume I- yellow) and many buses serving this area which will connect you quickly and easily to the rest of Barcelona.
